This entry into the 2007 AMD Open Architecture Challenge sought to create a Computer Resource Center in the slums of Nairobi, Kenya. We solved the sustainable requirements by using local recycled building materials which could be constructed using local labor. With this locally built frame, pre-fabricated, advanced technology computer classrooms could be inserted without needing to import skilled labor. The program mixes learning spaces and community meeting areas to encourage activity during day and night from all members of the community. This would help to develop a stronger community bond while promoting education and knowledge rather than the civil strife which was currently engulfing the neighborhoods of Nairobi.
